Land Clearing in Fulshear, TX

Need land clearing in Fulshear, TX? MTM Land Clearing Services clears homesites and acreage across Fulshear and northern Fort Bend County. The town sits where FM 359 meets FM 1093, southwest of our base in Spring. Standard scope is clearing and grubbing. The trees and brush come down, and the stumps and root mats come out. Call (281) 432-7360 for a free estimate on a lot or a tract of old pasture.

Fulshear grew up around the plantation of Churchill Fulshear, one of Stephen F. Austin's original Old Three Hundred colonists. Churchill Fulshear Jr. granted a railroad right-of-way in 1888, and the town was laid out in 1890. It was long a market center for locally grown rice, cotton, soybeans, corn, poultry and cattle. Pecans were an important local crop. Brazos River sediments built rich soil here, and native oak, cottonwood, ash and pecan trees grow in the area.

We take jobs anywhere in ZIP 77441, including Cross Creek Ranch, Fulbrook on Fulshear Creek, Fulshear Lakes and Polo Ranch. A compact track loader with a forestry mulching head turns brush and small trees into mulch on the ground. A mini excavator pulls the stumps and root mats. You decide whether the debris stays as mulch or leaves in our trucks and roll-off containers. Every estimate is free, and MTM is fully insured.

Local Conditions in Fulshear

Land Clearing Built for Fulshear Ground

Three layers of rules apply around Fulshear, depending on where a parcel sits. Inside the city limits, the development code requires a grading permit for grading of two acres or more. The same permit covers grading that alters the natural drainage flow or is part of new construction. The City Engineer may also require the applicant to submit to the Fort Bend County Drainage District. In its extraterritorial jurisdiction, or ETJ, the city does not regulate use or density. Its site development and subdivision rules still apply there. Unincorporated Fort Bend County, the ETJ included, requires a county permit for any work in a mapped floodplain. The county permit also covers fill or excavation over 500 cubic yards per acre. So does any change in elevation of six inches or more. USDA soil maps around town include Brazoria clay, a very slowly permeable soil of the Brazos flood plains. Runoff on it is high, and the soil survey lists it as rarely flooded near town. Fulshear stayed below 250 residents until the Houston metro area reached it in the late 1970s. It had 1,134 residents at the 2010 census and 16,856 at the 2020 census.

Areas we serve in & around Fulshear: Cross Creek Ranch, Cross Creek West, Fulbrook on Fulshear Creek, Fulshear Lakes, Polo Ranch, Summerview, Pecan Ridge, Churchill Farms, Weston Lakes, FM 359 and FM 1093.

Fulshear FAQs

Land Clearing in Fulshear: Common Questions

Local answers on permits, cost, and what to expect on Fulshear property.

Call (281) 432-7360

How much does land clearing cost in Fulshear?
The price depends on the land, so your number comes from a free estimate. Acreage and tree density set most of the machine time. Stumps and wet ground add to it, and so does hauling debris off instead of mulching it. For market ranges, see our guide to land clearing cost per acre in Texas.
Do I need a permit to clear land in Fulshear, TX?
It depends on where the land sits. Inside the city, a grading permit is needed for grading of two acres or more. It is also needed when grading alters the natural drainage flow or is part of new construction. In unincorporated Fort Bend County, ETJ included, a county permit covers work in a mapped floodplain. It also covers an enclosed building or concrete slab of 400 square feet or more. We check which rules apply during the free estimate.
Can I take down the big trees on my Fulshear lot?
Inside the city limits, check first. The city's tree preservation rule covers residential and commercial development. It keeps native trees of 24 inches DBH until 5 percent of the property is in canopy. DBH means the trunk's diameter at breast height. A protected tree removed for a hardship is replaced with two 4-inch trees of the same species. We check whether the rule touches your lot during the free estimate, before any tree removal starts.
Can I burn the brush after you clear my land?
Usually not. Fort Bend County is part of the Houston-Galveston-Brazoria ozone nonattainment area. TCEQ's stricter plant-growth burning rule applies in every designated nonattainment county. There, land-clearing debris may be burned only when no practical alternative exists. TCEQ lists mechanical chipping or mulching among those alternatives. Forestry mulching turns brush into mulch on site, and the rest can leave in our trucks and roll-off containers.
What comes before clearing land for a new Fulshear subdivision?
Inside the city limits, an ordinance adopted in May 2026 requires a Wildlife Impact Study with some subdivision plats. That covers a new residential subdivision of 20 or more lots, or one on 20 acres or more. Land clearing for that subdivision cannot start until the study and the plat get final approval. Disturbing an acre or more of soil also brings in the TCEQ construction stormwater permit. Texas law requires a call to 811 at least 48 hours before digging.
