Pasture clearing, fence line mulching, and homesite pads across Waller and the US 290 corridor where the prairie meets the pines. Free estimates from a crew based in Spring.
Need land clearing in Waller, TX? MTM Land Clearing clears pasture, fence lines, wooded acreage, and building lots across Waller and the US 290 corridor. Waller sits on the seam where the Katy Prairie gives way to the timbered country of northeast Waller County, so one job can be open rice ground and the next can be pines. We come from Spring by way of FM 2920 with skid steers, forestry mulchers, and excavators. Call (281) 432-7360 for a free estimate.
South and west of town the soils are the Katy series sandy loams of the old coastal prairie: flat, slow to drain, and grown up in Chinese tallow, huisache, and Macartney rose wherever cattle and hay have stopped. North and east the ground turns to Hockley loamy fine sands and the poorly drained Waller series flats that stay saturated from December to April under water oak, willow oak, sweetgum, and loblolly pine. Cypress Creek starts nine miles southeast of town and Spring Creek starts near Fields Store, so a lot of the acreage here drains toward one of those two creeks.
We clear for homeowners, builders, and landowners across the area: new lots in Beacon Hill and Attwater, one-to-two-acre estate lots at Lakeview on FM 362, and wooded tracts of an acre and a half and up in Saddle Creek Forest. We also clear the old hay and cattle parcels along FM 362 and FM 2920 that are turning into homesites. Estimates are free and the company is fully insured.

Land clearing and pasture reclamation lead our Waller work, with the full menu on the same job: forestry mulching for tallow, huisache, and fence line brush, tree removal and stump grinding in the wooded tracts, grading and dirt work for pads and driveways, excavation, demolition, and fence line mulching along old property lines.
Waller straddles Waller County and Harris County, and the city limits are small, so most clearing jobs answer to a county. Inside the city, the Permits and Inspections office requires permits for new construction and site work, and contractors have to be registered with the city. The floodplain ordinance requires a development permit for filling, grading, or excavation in a mapped flood zone, with new homes elevated to the base flood or 500-year elevation, whichever is higher. The city's code focuses on building and floodplain permits rather than tree preservation. On the Waller County side, the County Engineer in Hempstead has required a development permit for all new development since 2013, covering fill, driveways and culverts, water wells, and septic, and the fee doubles if work starts before the permit issues. The county allows no structural fill in flood hazard areas, requires one-for-one compensating storage for any fill up to the 500-year elevation, and sets a 1.5-acre minimum lot for a private well and septic. Dividing a tract into pieces of ten acres or less requires a plat. On the Harris County side, north of the city toward Fields Store and Hockley, the Harris County Engineer permits floodplain work and grading. Growth along US 290 is steep. The county's population rose about 40 percent to more than 66,000, and three new communities inside the city are planned to roughly triple its population. Beacon Hill's new US 290 exit and business park are pulling both homes and jobs to the north side of the highway.
